Northwood Invests in Workplace Safety with RimotHEALTH Partnership

Dartmouth firm provides screening kiosks for Halifax and Bedford facilities

DARTMOUTH, NOVA SCOTIA (June 10, 2021) Technology company Rimot is helping seniors long-term care facilities raise workplace safety standards.

The company announced the sale of three RimotHEALTH units to Northwood, two for the organization’s Halifax campus and one for its Bedford campus. Significantly reducing manual health and safety screening performed by staff, RimotHEALTH allows for a contactless interactive screen, with a thermal camera and automated questionnaires for employees to answer using a foot pedal.  RimotHEALTH software also allows for real-time data insights for organizations like Northwood to quickly respond in real time.

“As organizations come out of the third wave of COVID-19, they are examining new sustainable ways to protect facilities, their staff and others from future threats,” said Andrew Boswell, CEO of Rimot.  “We are pleased that Northwood is one of a number of long-term care facilities caring for seniors that have chosen to work with RimotHEALTH to improve the health and safety standards for their employees, residents and visitors.”

Northwood is the largest not-for-profit continuing care organization in Atlantic Canada, with locations in Halifax and Bedford providing a home for 541 residents.

“The infection prevention and control measures currently in place in long-term care will continue to be part of our everyday life.  This will include screening staff especially during flu seasons.” said Josie Ryan, Executive Director of Long-Term Care at Northwood.  “Our new RimotHEALTH kiosks help us to keep staff and residents safe moving into the future.”

Northwood is one of multiple long-term care organizations that is investing in workplace safety solutions offered by RimotHEALTH. Overall, since the beginning of the pandemic RimotHEALTH systems have done over 232,000 screenings at deployments across a variety of industries in Canada, the US and the UK.
